Summer 2012
- Summer I hours posted from 11a.m.-4p.m. and then changed due to lack of student population in the afternoon to 10a.m.-3p.m.
- Free donuts were given once students signed up for the WCOnline
- Had writing consultants create mini grammar workshops for use in the upcoming fall semester
- Grammar handouts and quizzes with answers were also created.
- Flyers were created and distributed to all faculty members at the DeSoto campus (NWCC & UM)
- Writing Center Handbook discussed
- Jeanine Rauch, UM-DeSoto Writing Center Director, spoke to Teach for America Teachers about Resume writing and Interview Skills.

Spring 2012
- Early preparations were made for the grand opening of the Writing Center
- Formal invitations were sent out to both Ole Miss deans, chairs, and faculty and Northwest Community College deans, chairs, and faculty
- Arrangements were made for cake and refreshments to be served during this open on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
- Paula Miller and Jeanine Rauch met with tutors on Jan. 17th to discuss spring semester hours of operation. Meeting and training procedures for the upcoming semester were also discussed.

- Renovations of the Writing Center completed (Storage materials moved out, new tiles on the ceiling, new paint on the walls, and floors cleaned.)

- Room #300 L was serving as a storage room but was utilized and renovated for the use of the Writing Center.
- This room is located in the Food Court area of the UM-Desoto and NWCC building.
